Behavior Management
"Don't Be A Grouchy Ladybug!"
Each student has a ladybug that has three spots and the child's name on it. Students will begin on a "3" everyday. Each child will receive ONE verbal warning when a rule is violated. After one verbal warning, it rules continue to be violated, the child will be asked to remove a spot from his or her ladybug, which moves them to a "2." The student will receive an in-class timeout and have a conference with the teacher to discuss the behavior. The next stage is a "1," which will occur when the second spot is removed from the ladybug. The student will be removed from class for a timeout and the parent will be contacted about the behavior. The next stage is a "0," which occurs when the final spot is removed from the ladybug. At this stage, the child will receive a behavior document and a parent/teacher/student conference will occur. If the child's behavior is interfering with their own learning and the learning of others they will leave the classroom.
**Treasure Box** At the end of the week, students who kept all of their spots all week will get to pick out a treasure from the treasure box.
